Pale King

Tribute to Pale King from Hollow Knight for my fan made series "The Higher Beings - a Hollow Knight Mythology", featuring all the deities from Hollow Knight world.
Pale King is the enigmatic figure whose actions shaped and influenced both the games. His origins, almost lovecraftian for most bugs, and the messianic appearance and attitude were the main focus in his characterization. To emphasize them, I explored first his physical features, ending up with a more human-like appearance than the other Beings with the goal to focus on his "alien" nature compared to bugs. This feature was further explored with colours, giving his wings a colour out of space-like attire. Then I worked on the messianic attitude with light and gesture. The final touch was suggesting the darkness beneath him, showing what he had done to his own children in the name of salvation of his kingdom.
